Shareholders and Directors
Michael Bell, Ali Chemais and Richard Irwin are the ultimate Blackpearl Property shareholders in each of the legal entities which undertake the individual schemes. They are supported by fellow financial shareholders. These vary from project to project but comprise in combination of high Net worth individuals and UK Quoted Property Funds. The Directors of Blackpearl are:
Michael is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a graduate engineer.
Prior to setting up Blackpearl Property, Ali was the General Manager of a Romanian construction joint venture between a private UK company and a UK quoted plc. Ali spent 13 years with Bouygues, one of the world’s leading construction and services companies, gaining experience in the UK, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic
Ali is also a qualified structural engineer.
Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Richard held a senior management role with Schroders in London where he specialised in the establishment of Investment Funds and Fund Management.
Richard also spent six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was a Director of their property team.
Richard is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
HRH Prince Michael is also a qualified lawyer.
Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Nasser was a partner in a leading project management practice in Belgium.
Nasser is also a qualified architect.
Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Nigel was a Director of the largest privately owned property development company in the United Kingdom, Miller Developments based in Birmingham.
Michael Bell
Michael is one of the founders of Blackpearl Property, with overall responsibility for strategy at the company. Michael has extensive experience in both Romanian and international real estate with investment in over two billion Euros of transactions to date. Prior to Blackpearl Property, Michael was an equity partner in the UK firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he headed up the partnerships NI Property Team.Michael is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a graduate engineer.
Ali Chemais
Ali is one of the founders of Blackpearl Property and is responsible for managing the team at the company. Ali has over 25 years experience in working in property and has managed the build of over 2,000 apartments in Romania.Prior to setting up Blackpearl Property, Ali was the General Manager of a Romanian construction joint venture between a private UK company and a UK quoted plc. Ali spent 13 years with Bouygues, one of the world’s leading construction and services companies, gaining experience in the UK, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and the Czech Republic

Richard Irwin
Richard is responsible for overall finance of Blackpearl Property. Richard has over ten years property development experience in Romania and has completed significant equity and debt investments in this market.Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Richard held a senior management role with Schroders in London where he specialised in the establishment of Investment Funds and Fund Management.
Richard also spent six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he was a Director of their property team.
Richard is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

HRH Prince Michel is responsible for the management of Blackpearl Property’s public relations. He has an extensive network of contacts within both the public and private sectors and has played a key part in raising the profile of Blackpearl Property as a leading property developer in Romania.HRH Prince Michael is also a qualified lawyer.
Nasser Chemais
Nasser is responsible for the day to day operations of Blackpearl Property, including management of all the technical and commercial aspects of the development projects from planning through to client acceptance. Nasser has extensive experience in designing and delivering major landmark residential and commercial projects in key European cities.Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Nasser was a partner in a leading project management practice in Belgium.
Nasser is also a qualified architect.
Nigel Bell
Nigel is responsible for all the commercial aspects of Blackpearl Property’s developments with a view to optimising returns. Nigel has over 24 years experience in real estate development.Prior to joining Blackpearl Property, Nigel was a Director of the largest privately owned property development company in the United Kingdom, Miller Developments based in Birmingham.
